Scottsdale Housing Prices Attracting Retirees
Although Scottsdale housing prices are increasing rapidly, the city is still an excellent bargain. That is why Scottsdale housing is still in such high demand. Resale prices are starting to catch up with new construction prices because there is not enough existing Scottsdale housing to keep up with the demand.
A lot of this demand comes from retirees moving to warmer climates. In fact, 30 percent of the areas home sales are to retirees. These migrants are moving to Scottsdale with money they have received for the sale of property elsewhere in the United States. Because Scottsdale housing is still cheaper than homes in most other cities and regions, retirees are able to purchase more lavish houses. As long as Scottsdale housing prices remain below the average home prices in cities in the Midwest, such as Chicago, Minneapolis-St. Paul and Milwaukee, Scottsdale housing will continue to sell well.
