The Role of Scottsdale Real Estate Agents Changes Because of the Internet

The Internet has brought empowerment to Scottsdale real estate consumers. No longer does the average homebuyer have to rely on a realtor to let them know what´s on the market.

Before the Internet revolution, Scottsdale real estate agents “were the only ones who had access to the data from the Multiple Listing Service, or the MLS, where almost every agent lists a new home on the market.” Now Scottsdale real estate consumers can find large portions of the MLS for free on the web.

Increasingly, buyers and sellers are cutting out the middle man. Websites like CraigsList.com list hundreds of ads posted by home sellers across the nation, so Scottsdale real estate shoppers can browse for hours.

These enormous and rather rapid changes have assigned Scottsdale real estate agents a new role. Realtors are now morphing from their traditional role as “keeper of data to a strategist, psychologist and even more of an uber salesperson.”
