DC Ranch
DC Ranch is one of North Scottsdale's newest master planned communities. The 3,700-acre "connected community" is situated at the western foothills of the McDowell Mountains, on land once occupied by a working cattle ranch. Opened in 1997, the community plans to continue development through 2007.
The "connected community" tag refers to physical connection as well as digital connection. Miles of paths and trails make it possible for residents to access anything on the Ranch without having to drive. Neighborhoods are built with interaction and community living in mind; home construction emphasizes "front-of-the house living."
DC Ranch calls itself "Arizona's first telecommunity," because of the advanced digital fiber technology and customized telecommunications package it offers residents. RanchNetÆ is the community's private intranet.
Several builders offer a variety of housing options in DC Ranch, including 6,000 square- foot custom homes that can cost more than $3 million, and townhomes with market values of around $500,000.
The Silverleaf "enclave" is currently in development at DC Ranch. Set in the canyons of the McDowell Mountains, Silverleaf will offer three neighborhoods of homes, a private golf course and spa. Home sites range in value from $1 million to over $5 million.
Like many of the area's master planned communities, DC Ranch provides residents with an array of services and amenities.
The Ranch's 18-hole, par 71 golf course treats players to beautiful mountain and valley views. The Market at DC Ranch is a farmer's market open daily from mid-October through mid-May. The nine-acre Desert Camp indoor/outdoor community recreational facility caters to all family members with on-site computers, workout facilities, swimming pools, tennis and basketball courts and children's play areas.
Residents purchase golf and club memberships separately, and can chose full golf equity, sports/social, or a clubhouse membership (swimming, tennis and dining).
