Ranch is one of the more established Scottsdale gated golf communities.
Built in the 1980s on the site of an Arabian horse ranch, the 560-acre
community provides residents with a convenient North Central Scottsdale
location, and a private golf club.
Ranch Golf Club is comprised of three themed 9-hole courses: The Lakes,
The Dunes, The Arroyo. Only members, their guests and guests at the
Gainey Ranch Hyatt Hotel are allowed to use the facilities. New members
must be nominated by current members or introduced to the club’s
membership committee. Golf membership requires a $48,000 deposit and
monthly dues of $370. A club membership, providing more restricted use
of the golf club, is available for a $10,000 deposit and $200 monthly
fee. During the January – April period, golfers with a club membership
can play the course only as the guest of a golf member. Gainey Ranch
also offers more modestly priced social memberships for a $500 deposit
and $45 monthly dues. Social members can dine at the club, attend social
functions and enjoy such non-golf recreation as tennis, croquet and
swimming. All Gainey Ranch residents can walk, jog or bike on miles
of landscaped paths and shop at the community’s Town Center facility.
Available Gainey Ranch real estate includes
resale single-family homes, townhomes and apartment style condominium
units. In this community, you will find price ranges of $160,000 to
about $4 million. A two-bedroom condo built in the mid-1980s (up to
1,200 square feet) with single-car garage and access to a community
pool has a market value of around $170,000. A single-family home constructed
in that same period will be priced over $550,000 for three bedrooms,
a two-car garage and private pool.
