Scottsdale home prices rise as you move from south to north through the city. Median Scottsdale home prices range from about $140,000 in South Scottsdale to $450,000 in the North near the McDowell Mountains and Pinnacle Peak areas.
Real estate sales statistics for 2002 show average Scottsdale home prices were $390,700 for single family homes, just under $260,000 for patio homes and slightly over $175,000 for townhomes. Scottsdale home prices overall rose 12.7% in 2002.
In the older South section of the city, it is possible to find Scottsdale home prices in the affordable range of $120,000 to $220,000 for homes built in the 1950s and 60s. Scottsdale home prices could be on the rise in this area as the city encourages renovation of older homes. South Scottsdale also may become more desirable due to its proximity to Tempe Town Lake.
As you move toward the Central part of the city, Scottsdale home prices rise to a median price of $268,000. The homes in this part of the city were built in the 1960s through the 1980s. Scottsdale home prices here start around $180,000 for an affordable single family home.
Scottsdale home prices in North Scottsdale can start at about $190,000, but jump for homes in the newer master planned communities. The majority of the homes in North Scottsdale were built after 1990. A number of the oldest homes in this area are being updated and even enlarged with room additions. The most affordable Scottsdale home prices in the North will be found closest to the city.
North Scottsdale subdivisions offering Scottsdale home prices around or under $200,000 include Arizona Silverado (built between 1997 and 2000) and Ladera and Premiere at Pinnacle Peak (built in the early 90s.) Single family homes in these subdivisions include two-story and single-level models, with up to four bedrooms.
Scottsdale home prices for condominium and townhome properties start at around $60,000 and also rise as you travel North. Scottsdale home prices for condos and townhomes can go as high as $1 million. Units range in size from 1000 square feet to 4000 square feet. The Salida Del Sol gated condominium community in the McDowell Mountain Ranch area offers units that start at $160,000.
