Troon and Troon North

Golfers and world travelers know that Royal Troon is a famous golf course on the Ayshire coast of Scotland. Not surprisingly, the master planned communities of Troon and Troon North in North Scottsdale have been built around golf.

Real estate in the 1,300-acre Troon community runs the gamut from townhomes and moderately priced single-family homes to 5,000-square-foot "ultra luxury" homes with market values of more than $2 million. In between are custom luxury homes, custom golf course homes, and custom luxury estates on lots of up to 8 acres. The custom luxury estates of the Windy Walk & Troon Mountain Estates subdivisions are large homes priced from $600,000 to $2 million. The homes range in size from 3,200 square feet to over 6,600 square feet. Buyers looking for more modest housing can find homes priced under $400,000 in Desert Views/Four Peaks. Townhomes with up to 2,400 square feet of living space and market values in the $250,000 to $350,000 range are in the Skye Topp subdivision.

Troon North is a 1,800-acre master planned community offering new and resale homes that range from $165,000 to $1.3 million. The recently completed Estates at Boulder Crest subdivision offers estate homes set on lots that range from one acre to almost two acres. The sites are priced from $175,000 to $400,000, and the custom homes begin in the $700,000s.

The draw for many Troon residents is access to the two highly acclaimed golf courses at Troon North - the Monument Golf Course and the newer Pinnacle Course. The full-service clubhouse offers dining, health and fitness areas and banquet facilities for up to 200. Beyond golf, there is the four-acre Troon North Community Park, with tennis and basketball courts, barbeque areas, a tot lot and a turfed play area. A nearby 30-acre Scottsdale municipal park has soccer and softball fields, in addition to basketball, volleyball and tennis courts. Residents can also commune with nature in a 185-acre mountain preserve that's just next door.
